Today’s love story comes from the mists of Yorkshire and was sent to me by photographer Richard Wynn Davies and Brides Up North reader Michelle.
.
Michelle and Ben’s story reminds me a little of the hubby and I’s own – we also met as teenagers and spent a few years bumping into one another before deciding that this time it was for keeps…

Michelle says: We got engaged at the top of the York Minster last June. Ben had pre-arranged for us to go on the last tower tour of the day. It was a complete surprise when Ben got down onto one knee and popped the question. We then went to the Biltmore where Ben had arranged pink champagne and strawberry truffles, it was very romantic!

We are having a traditional wedding in July this year. The ceremony is going to take place in an old traditional church in a place called Middlesmoor, it is beautiful and looks over the Yorkshire dales. We are then having a reception at the Sportsmans Arms in Wath. The venues are about 30 minutes from Harrogate.

We first met eleven years ago when we were both students at Harrogate College. I was studying Performing Arts and Ben was studying Technical Theatre.
.
After dating at college we then went our separate ways to go to University and after a while we lost touch with each other. We bumped into each other six years ago and it was like we had never been apart. Ben then took me on a date to a restaurant in York where we dined on oysters and champagne.

When we bumped into each other again we sat and chatted for hours. I felt like a giddy 16 year old again and knew then that I didn’t ever want to lose contact again.

We both have the same outlook on life and always want each other to be happy. We never finish the day on a bad note and we both strive to have the others best interests at heart. We would love to have the kind of marriage that our parents have.

Because our wedding photo’s are so important to us, we wanted to be able to feel relaxed with been photographed and to get to know our photographer before hand. We also wanted to have some photos to look back on from before we were married.

The shoot was fantastic! It was a lovely setting and Richard made us feel really relaxed. We had lots of fun and were delighted with the photographs. We know that we couldn’t have chosen a better photographer and can’t wait to see the wedding photos.
