Today’s love story comes to us from the North West and is perfectly themed to tie in with the Jubilee celebrations here on the wedding blog this weekend! Thanks to Brides Up North reader Emma and Jules Fortune Photography for sharing this lovely set of memories with us today.

Emma says: Giles proposed to me in Australia. It was amazing and so romantic. We were travelling the West coast of Australia and were having a picnic and watching the sunset on the beach in Broome.

We are saying “I do” at the end of July at Hilltop House in Prestbury, Cheshire.

We met through friends at an Ian Brown gig at Platt Fields Park in Manchester. We both knew from the start it was something special. Giles was living in Sheffield and came to Manchester to visit so we had some drinks in the Northern Quarter for our first date.

I knew that he was the one within a few days. We were inseparable straight away after we met and Giles moved to Manchester two months later to live with me.

We make each other so happy. We think alike and always understand how the other is feeling. We also laugh a lot and both have the same silly sense of humour. We think exactly the same about everything and enjoy the same things. This shone right from the very start – even on the first few dates we just clicked. Sometimes it’s slightly scary how perfectly suited we are!
.
Our biggest wish for married life is to always make time for each other and never take each other for granted.

We loved the engagement shoot! It was a lot of fun and gave us a chance to practice our gurns for the wedding! Jules, our photographer, was amazing and made us feel very relaxed. The photographs will go into our on-going big photo album that highlights all the amazing things that we have shared together.

I read Brides Up North because I love seeing other real weddings and getting ideas of little touches that we could do.
