Have you missed her?  Our regular guest blogger Katy of What Katy Did Next (who you can meet in person at the Brides Up North Bridal Bonanza Grand Wedding Exhibition at Hardwick Hall Hotel on Sunday 24th February 2013 – click here to register) is back for 2013, kicking off the year with a pale and (very) interesting colour palette.

Le sigh.

Katy says:  I’m back and wishing all you Wednesday Wedding Inspiration lovers a fabulous 2013! I’m still not ready to let go of the glitz of the festive period and with all the snow (which is still falling as I write) I reckon I can be excused for letting the glamour linger on a little longer. Hugely inspired by the fab frocks of the Golden Globes – a lot of pale, blushes, nudes and of course… gold, my palette for this board is a faded champagne colour with touches of ivory, lace and sparkle added here and there.

.
As a bridal headwear designer, I’ve noticed that a lot of my 2013 brides are opting for bows! I’ve been making them in shiny satins, delicate organza and dainty tulle bows. I love the vintagey feel they can give to a wedding when used properly. On this board I’ve kept them on the bride and her accessories – a draped organza bow waist on that beautiful Papilio gown, teamed with champagne bows on both a bridal clutch and amazingly cute shoes. Great idea for Bridesmaid’s gifts – bow shoe clips! If your maids are wearing different shoes, matching shoe clips is a lovely way of tying their style together and a great keepsake.

.
For something different in your table decor why not pattern up your table cloth with a roll of fancy wallpaper? Effective on both trestle and round tables, pick something that really suits you and your groom’s style. Layer with crockery, flowers and candles that highlight colours within the wallpaper pattern. Another use for fabulous wallpaper like the designs featured is a DIY Photobooth.

.
To really let the champagne in your colour palette sparkle, keep your maids and floral displays in pale muted shades of ivory and nude or add a stylish black!

.
I’d love to hear some mood board suggestions from all you lovely Brides to be – I’m sure there are a whole new load of you just discovering Brides Up North – do let us know if we can help you with a theme, colour palette or some simple inspiration for your big day. I’m ready for a colour challenge!

.

.

Remember: the plan is to share a new inspiration board in this time slot every other week, either compiled by myself, regular guest blogger Katy or YOU: get in touch with your own ideas and inspiration boards! We’ll be discussing our inspirations behind the images too so it’s simply going to be a whole load of lovely.

.

If you are a little less arty but in need of inspiration and still want to play along, we will also be taking requests for colour schemes and themes and making bespoke boards for my readers. Please contact me to suggest a theme or colour scheme.
