So, it’s official – Autumn has arrived. The weathermen are saying that there’ll be no more sun for us, and I find my thoughts turning to new boots and winter coats (ah ok, I was thinking about those back in July… always a season ahead of myself)! If you’ve got a September wedding coming up, don’t despair, I reckon we can still squeeze out an Indian summer yet.
If you’ve cracked open the black opaque tights and are anticipating lunch at your desk (forgot your umbrella? Thought so) then today’s sunny styled shoot sent to me by Ruth Mitchell Photography and celebrating our great Yorkshire countryside should take you back to less soggy times.
Be inspired… there’s always next year!
Ruth says: We all knew all along but now it’s official, Yorkshire has earned the title of the leading destination at the World Travel Awards. With it’s dramatic landscapes, stunning coastline and vibrant cities and great architecture what better place to get married?
Way back in April, Yorkshire Country Weddings decided that we wanted to share some of the natural beauty of the area with you. Based right in the middle of the Dales and North Yorkshire Moors national parks in the area where James Herriot had his veterinary practice, we were inspired to have a photo-shoot with a simple country theme in keeping with the area.
We love some of the gorgeous themed weddings that brides choose but we thought that the beautiful landscape surrounding Laskill Country House in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park spoke for itself -so on a very windy day in April some of the areas best wedding suppliers got together to showcase the area and their products. See if you can spot anyone under the table hanging onto the tablecloth so that it didn’t blow away – again!
Due to the wind we were unable to take all of the outside shots that we would have liked to, but you can sample them for yourself on Sunday 22nd September when Yorkshire Country Weddings are holding a wedding fair at Laskill Country House which is near Helmsley and just along the road from the fabulous Rievaulx Abbey. After meeting the suppliers you can soak up the scenery with a free coffee, and a cake if your fancy takes you, and chat about the ideas and inspiration you have gleaned from your visit.
