But there’s no need to just take our word for it. In October we will be staging one of our popular Luxury Wedding Exhibitions at this fabulous venue – and you’re all invited to come along and view the beauty for yourselves.

Where is Cutlers’ Hall located and what is the history of the building?
chloe says: Cutlers’ Hall is a Grade II* listed venue situated in the centre of vibrant Sheffield and is home to the Cutlers Company in Hallamshire. The Cutlers’ Company was established by a parliamentary Act of Incorporation in 1624 and for almost four hundred years has sought to maintain the standards and quality of Sheffield manufactured cutlery and steel products and to promote the name of Sheffield. As manufacturing in the region has changed over the centuries, the company reflects this by highlighting the innovation in the region as well as upholding Sheffield’s proud heritage.
The hall is renowned for hosting weddings, conferences and dinners. Without doubt the history of the venue and its impressive silver collection complements the hall’s natural charm and elegance perfectly.
Tell us about the space available for weddings at Cutlers’ Hall…
The hall has four rooms licensed to hold civil ceremonies and available for receptions of all shapes and sizes. Our Drawing and Reception Room are ideal for smaller weddings for up to 80 guests, while our Old Banqueting Hall can accommodate up to 120 guests, and for larger celebrations our Main Hall can accommodate up to 300 guests.
What makes Cutlers’ Hall a special and sets it apart from other wedding venues?
Cutlers’ Hall is a unique, one-of-a-kind venue. The décor of the hall is absolutely breath-taking and certainly offers the wow factor, plus there is an abundance of glamorous photo opportunities. Our flexible approach allows the wedding day to run exactly how our wedding couples have dreamed of. And while we do have generic packages, we prefer to offer tailor made packages to make celebrations both individual and memorable.
What would you say is the most unique feature of Cutlers’ Hall?
Our most amazing feature is our Grand Staircase. It is just the most perfect welcome and the most magnificent place for those memorable wedding day photos. I also have to mention the three amazing chandeliers that we have in our Main Hall. They are absolutely phenomenal and the most stunning vocal point.
What sort of bride would be a Cutlers’ Hall bride?
A Cutlers’ Hall bride is a classy, sophisticated individual looking for a venue that has allure and elegance. Think Downton Abbey glamour!
Have there been any particularly memorable weddings at the venue that stand out to you?
Three years ago we had the wedding of our ‘soon to be’ Master Cutler for more than 200 guests. Obviously we feel pressure with every wedding and do our best to ensure the day runs as smoothly as it possibly can, but this added even more pressure. Luckily the wedding was a beautiful day, and the couple were extremely happy.
How can your staff help to make the planning process easier and the big day amazing?
We always ensure every couple has a dedicated wedding planner that is on hand to answer their every question and assist in any way they can. On the day of the wedding itself an event manager will ensure all runs smoothly. We have trusted suppliers that are there to help add that finishing touch to the day, whether it’s a beautiful floral centrepiece or the perfect entertainment. Our trusted suppliers work with us on a regular basis so know exactly what works well at the hall.
Can guests stay over at the hall?
Although we do have a dressing room at the hall for the bride to make use of on the day of her wedding, we don’t have any accommodation onsite. We there recommend that our couples and their guests stay at the boutique style Leopold Hotel, which is just a two-minute walk away from the venue and offers the perfect bridal suite for the night of the wedding. We can guarantee that the team at the hotel will pull out all the stops for the couple and their guests.
Tell us about your catering service…
Our catering team are based onsite and cater for all our events. They produce seasonal menus offering a wide selection of dishes using locally sourced fresh ingredients. Our head chef is also more than happy to offer a personal touch and sit with our wedding couples to assist them to make their own bespoke menu.
Can you give Brides Up North an idea on price?
As mentioned we do have a number of set packages available, but we believe that every wedding is different and as such, we like to offer our wedding couples bespoke packages where suitable.
