Country loving brides-to-be, our second helping of styled shoot inspo for today will be totally up your street as it features a brand new rustic chic venue!
Incidentally we will be hosting a Luxury Wedding Show at on Bank Holiday Monday 6th May to showcase this beautiful barn building with a modern twist to all you fabulous engaged couples, so be sure to take note!
Bunny Hill Weddings is a unique venue situated between York and Hull blending beautiful woodland with countryside views and a lovingly renovated barn. And thanks to the hard work of all the suppliers involved, led by Shannon from Holmfirth-based Dotty Bridal – who was keen to show off a new collection from designer Charlie Brear – we can give you an early glimpse into this enchanting new wedding venue.
Beautiful styling illustrates the endless possibilities when planning your wedding at Bunny Hill – think low hanging feature lights, a modern copper and wooden décor scheme and – one of our current favourites – a blossoming flower wall.
As for the fashion – this will have you reaching for the Pinterest button in no time, we promise! We just love the oh so contemporary two-piece bridal looks, effortlessly demonstrating how to pull off a mix match of tops, skirts and overlays on your big day. And look out for the vibrant pink and purple blooms which really make these designs pop. Curious to find out more? Us too! Let’s go behind the scenes with Shannon…
Shannon says: The shoot was arranged to create exposure for all the suppliers. My business, Dotty Bridal, has a brand-new designer collection, Charlie Brear and we wanted to show off these amazing on-trend dresses. Bunny Hill was a perfect fit for the photoshoot with it being new to the wedding scene, so it was great to give the venue exposure. Once we had secured Bunny Hill for the shoot, we invited other suppliers to be involved.
Charlie Brear, the designer of the dresses used in the shoot, is modern and really on trend and Bunny Hill complemented this perfectly – it has a traditional rustic wooden barn feel but with really modern decor.
We went with Elizabeth James Events for the decor. She brought large rustic wooden love lights, a wooden frame with copper Edison hanging bulbs which we decorated with flowers from Stems Design, and a flower wall. The wooden love letters and the frame fitted in perfectly at Bunny Hill, thanks to the venue’s wooden and copper features.
For the flowers, we went with two colour palettes – one softer, more natural and neutral, and the other deep vibrant pinks, purples and green foliage. With the dresses being simple and plain, we wanted brighter flowers to make the dresses really pop.
For the makeup, styled by Lisa Addley, we went with a more natural and soft bridal look, teaming it with a soft gentle up do.
We wanted a laid-back but smart modern look for our bride and groom. The Charlie Brear dresses are really on trend, modern and far from the usual bridal look. They have a lot of mix match tops, skirts and overlays to create different looks. We worked with Tweed & Groom for the suits as they are super trendy and suave – far from a traditional top hat and tails kind of look. Grooms seem to want a smart but trendy style, which teamed with the Charlie Brear dresses perfectly.
The day went very smoothly – I feel like we captured something for everyone, including our cake by the fabulous Where the Ribbon Ends, and our photobooth supplied by Viva La Booth. The weather was on our side too, considering it was mid-November, so we managed to get some shots of the beautiful surroundings as well as inside the incredible barn.
In other news, Dotty Bridal has just taken on three new dress designers. We like to keep it up-to-the-minute fresh at Dotty Bridal and try to offer our brides something quite unique and a little bit different to other boutiques, so look out for more details soon!
