FAMILY AFFAIR. A STYLED WEDDING SHOOT AT THE BEAUMONT HOTEL

Julia Braime

Today’s styled shoot from a group of our amazing UNVEILED Network suppliers (and friends) is an elegant occasion pulled together by a team with a flair for pretty, a passion for florals and a personal interest in offering options for the couple with a family in tow.

Celebrate with us as an existing married couple, still choosing to share their lives whatever the future brings, reaffirm their love for one another and vow, again, to grow old together.

Beautiful, light shots and soft pastel colours keep things tasteful for the understated vow renewal and delicate, pretty floral arrangements perfectly accentuate the stunning Beaumont Hotel in Hexham. And check out the unusual chandelier arch feature from Birdcages and Dragonflies!

This shoot and concept was in fact inspired by Laura from Peony & Gold’s own 15th wedding anniversary and her struggle to find inspo that suited their story – and Laura actually got involved herself! She and her husband, Jonathan, are the models playing the bride and groom! We also spot two of the cutest flower girls you ever did see – Laura and Jonathon’s own daughters! This is one way to mark a milestone wedding anniversary, keep the family entertained in lockdown and celebrate the passing of time together!

INSPIRATION

Laura says: This was a styled shoot at the Beaumont Hotel in Hexham. The shoot was styled around an intimate vow renewal; we wanted to showcase the passing of time and that the couple were now older and had a family. It’s coming up to my own 15th wedding anniversary and I couldn’t find inspo images for an intimate vow renewal with an older couple and their family.

LOCATION

The Beaumont is such a stunning hotel which I feel is under-utilised as a wedding venue. The room was perfect for the light and airy feel we wanted.

STYLING

As a florist, the florals were super important to me but I wanted something that hadn’t been seen before and so I spoke with Jane from Birdcages and Dragonflies and told her I wanted a chandelier arch. She made this up specifically for the shoot and it just brought all of the floral designs together amazingly! The pink sofa, also from Birdcages and Dragonflies, added an amazing familial touch and the children loved relaxing in their fairytale garden while we were shooting.

The cake, by Sara’s Kitchen, was just stunning and those sails were a work of art. We also had a smaller cake, stunning cake pops and geometric cake hearts for the favours. The sails are set to be a huge trend next year, we love the way they show movement and look like fabric. Sara went with them to fit with the theme of movement through time.

The stationery, by Ivy Alice Stationery, was elegant and simple by design, with white gold edging to match the vow renewal ring.

ATTIRE

Sarah Vuong provided the stunningly elegant crystal bracelet, headband and earrings which were in keeping with the stationery and the vow renewal ring

The dress, a Mori Lee design was from Beautiful Day Bridal and worked well with my figure.

The stunning children’s wear was provided by Ralph and Mimi. Ralph and Mimi only stock the best designer clothes with a focus on traditional style and beautiful construction.

BEAUTY

Unfortunately due to COVID-19 we couldn’t get a hairdresser or makeup artist and we struggled to get models so Lyndsey, the photographer, asked my family to step in. My husband Jonathon and I modelled (uncomfortably!) with our two girls, Isabella (10) and Olivia (4).

RESULTS

Because it had been so long since any of the suppliers had worked on a wedding, we all really enjoyed a good catch up and the chance to do what we all do best; create stunning weddings! The chandelier arch coming together was a highlight, months of planning and design coming together was a great treat, oh and eating Sara’s cake was amazing too.

Sally at Rhymes to Remember also wrote the most beautiful poem for the day, which really brought together the last 15 years for us.
