We’ve got a beautiful, collaborative styled shoot at new venue The Grand Lodge at Oaklands, in picturesque East Yorkshire, for your viewing pleasure. Whether you’re knee-deep in planning or you just got engaged (congrats!), you’re going to want to check this one out.
If lots of wood, natural textures and rich colours is your style, this could be the styling inspo for you. UNVEILED Network Member The Grand Lodge at Oaklands celebrates the luxurious side of lodge living, making it the perfect place to hold your ceremony, with the flexibility of indoor or outdoor spaces. Today’s shoot depicts an indoor ceremony and party space, while showing how perfect the surrounding 200 acres of land could be for more intimate photos of you as a couple. Every photographer’s dream!
It’s the ability to offer classic, elegant glam yet still retain elements of pretty, rustic charm that made us fall in love with this shoot. That, and the clear emotion captured between the couple – who are a couple in real life too! We’ve got to give props to everyone involved for this stunningly crafted creation, and the deep, rich forest green in the stationery and throughout is deliciously on-trend for the season.
Let’s get into it… and meanwhile watch this space, because we miiiiiiiiiiiiight just have added a very special Oaklands shaped date on our Brides Up North Wedding Shows calendar for 2021!

The team says: Luxe lodge meets rustic charm. To celebrate the opening of The Grand Lodge we wanted to capture the essence of a wedding at Oaklands. Shooting both indoor and outdoor ceremony areas to showcase the choices available, along with our newly built venue that sits within 200 acres of woodland, where the tipis once sat.
Oaklands used to be home to tipis where weddings have been conducted since 2015. The Grand Lodge replaced the tipis and opened its doors this summer. Louise had been following the progress of The Grand Lodge and contacted Andrea to team up to create this shoot.
Greens, golds, and taupe was the colour palette for this styled shoot. Greens to represent Oaklands’ environment, golds to emphasise the luxury elements and taupe to blend everything together.
Nude florals by UNVEILED Network Member Bloom and Bridal complemented the rich green and gold leaf stationery designed by Lo at Somers Creative. The showstopping cake was the creation of Felicity and Krystle, from the Hull-based Juniper Cakery, and luscious food by UNVEILED Network Member Baba Ganoush Catering displayed with elegant tableware from Whitehouse Event Crockery and styled with taupe runners by Claire at Born Boho.
The styling for the attire was very elegant. The groom model wore a Jeff Banks tuxedo from UNVEILED Network Member Suit Direct and the bride model wore Corbyn by Wtoo by Watters supplied by UNVEILED Network Member Elizabeth Lucas. Head pieces and accessories were supplied by Elizabeth Lucas too. Hugh Rice Jewellers provided an array of watches and jewellery from their wedding range to complete the stylish look.
The vibe was very laid back on the day. Our aim was to capture as much as Oaklands as possible due to all the renovation work whilst incorporating everyone’s contribution to the shoot. Tracy Hammond at Boho Ceremonies, our celebrant, took the brief to the next level and wore the most gorgeous green dress that worked perfectly against the preserved foliage by Bloom and Bridal in the indoor ceremony room (Lakeside Lodge) and next to Born Boho’s gold crescent moon!
Jay at Moments in White was our videographer on the day. We are super pleased with the film; Jay has captured the day beautifully.
Since the styled shoot we have welcomed back all our lovely couples, the majority of who had booked Oaklands having only seen sketches of The Grand Lodge in planning stages. The response and reactions to the end result has been amazing! We have also had our first wedding in The Grand Lodge! We’re looking forward to many more in the future.
