WELL HELLO THERE!
Hello, I’m Robert, the owner and main photographer at True Love Optics. We are a dedicated wedding photography company providing couples with high-quality images, friendly service and outstanding value!
WHERE DID YOUR PASSION FOR PHOTOGRAPHY COME FROM?
About 11 years ago, I bought my first professional-level camera. The same year my brother asked me to photograph his wedding in Tuscany (cheeky!). The passion just snowballed from there. I gained studio, sports and wedding photography experience and also a professional photography qualification with NYIP. I now shoot solely weddings and have done so for the last few years.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE OF PHOTOGRAPHY?
I’d describe my style as natural and artistic. In terms of approach, I like to follow the natural flow of your wedding, working in a relaxed and unobtrusive way. For the majority of the day, you will hardly notice me. I would always recommend time for a little fun and free-spirited portraiture, but it’s not compulsory; it’s your day! I generally like to use natural light as much as possible.
WHAT SETS YOU APART FROM OTHER PHOTOGRAPHERS?
My photographic skill level. My real wedding photographs are photoshoot quality. Also my personality. I have a natural ability to make others laugh and feel at ease, resulting in better images.
DO YOU HAVE A FAVOURITE PART OF THE DAY TO CAPTURE?
That’s a tough one… it’s a toss-up between ‘the kiss’ and the first dance. Both are super emotional moments that get good responses from the wedding party!
WHERE DOES YOUR WORK TAKE YOU?
I primarily photograph weddings in the North West of England: Lancashire, Cheshire, Manchester, Merseyside and the Lake District. I also photograph weddings throughout the UK and travel for destination weddings.
WHAT WOULD BE YOUR TOP TIPS FOR COUPLES SEARCHING FOR A WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER?
- Photograph quality – it may sound obvious, but this should be the primary factor when making your decision. Are the photographs sharp, colourful and well exposed? Or are they dark and not very visible? Or even faded?
- Real weddings, not photoshoots – any photographer can produce high quality when everything is controlled like on a photoshoot, but what’s their work like when it matters, hence on a wedding day. Look for wedding albums on their website as opposed to random ad hoc photos so you can see how they have captured a day in its entirety.
- Value – consider price in relation to their quality. Some photographers charge twice as much but look like point and shoot photographers with little photographic training. Likewise, some photographers may be poor at marketing but are highly trained and skilled photographers.
WHAT OPTIONS DO YOU OFFER?
I like to tailor my offering to your individual wedding photography preferences. I have three photography coverage levels: half-day, 3/4 day and full day. I also offer a diverse range of handcrafted luxury wedding photography products, with hundreds of individual options.
IS THERE A SPECIAL DISCOUNT THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO OFFER TO OUR READERS?
