Something Blue. A Styled Tipi Wedding Shoot at Eden Grange

Sarah Symonds

Boho but keep it cool. We’re taking the bohemian trend and adding that something blue for luck with today’s featured styled shoot at the new Eden Grange wedding venue near Newton Aycliffe.

If you fancy tipis and an outdoorsy celebration but don’t want anything too rustic or cutesy, then today’s featured styled shoot is the one for you, babes. Dani from UNVEILED Network Member boutique D & S Bridal Club has assembled a crew of talented locally based suppliers and the result is just gorgeous. We’re seeing the usual boho suspects – big botanical vibes, lots of bare wood and pampas, the classic tipi and hessian combo – but with an altogether more graceful palette of sea green/blue and an on-trend metallic gold to add a little bougie touche.

We love the delicately hand painted sweet treats, a feast for the eyes and perfect for when guests get a little snackish. And there’s even a cameo from newborn baby Delilah, possibly the smallest, daintiest flower girl we’ve ever seen!

CONCEPT

Dani says: We wanted to create a relaxed, boho shoot but done in an elegant way to hopefully appeal to more couples, using a tasteful sea green and golden colour scheme.

LOCATION

Eden Grange Weddings are a brand new 2020 tipi venue with beautiful scenery, located at the centre of a seven lake fishery within 12 acres of beautiful land, giving your tipi wedding party gorgeous views overlooking the lakes. The venue is within easy reach of Durham, Teesside, Darlington and North Yorkshire.

Eden Grange also has five glamping pods on site for guests to stay in, which have private hot tubs, fire pits and BBQs, so your wedding party can easily continue on into the next day.

STYLING

The final colour palette that the lovely Emma from Ambience Venue Styling went with was a gorgeously timeless sage green paired with golden tones. Yasmin from Amo Les Flores then mixed dried and fresh flowers to help really create that boho yet elegant look we were going for. We also created a balloon arch for a feature chair to make the concept really stand out. This would also be the perfect photo opportunity for a real wedding styling.

Amanda from UNVEILED Network Member Fairy Hill Cakes made an incredible selection of desserts and sweet treats, including a three tier macrame style cake, cakesicles and matching biscuits. It all looked too good to eat!

ATTIRE

The bridal gown that Demi, our model, wore was provided by my boutique, D & S Bridal Club and is from Kate Fearnley’s new Wonderland collection. The suit that the groom, Luke, is wearing was provided by All About the Suit, which worked perfectly together with the dress. We even managed to get new born baby Delilah involved as a flower girl, in a miniature tutu made by Michele at D & S Bridal Club!

BEAUTY

We went for a relaxed loose curl for Demi’s hair. The look was created by the talented Elly Devenport Hair and really added to the soft romantic feel.

Makeup for the shoot was done for us by Rosie Hill MUA. Rosie cleverly created a flawless, soft-but-glam look with a pop of colour on the lip.

RESULTS

I think everything turned out fantastically! We really enjoyed being able to all work with all suppliers again, albeit in a slightly different, Covid secure way. It came together perfectly.

Our real couple, Demi and Luke, helped us create this stunning shoot and made it look even more beautiful. It was all just a really fun and relaxed day, which helped us get the perfect shots.
