Lauren says: The inspiration behind the shoot was to showcase the beauty of the North Wales countryside where this unique venue is situated. Set in the Conwy Valley with a stunning mountainous backdrop this location provides an unrivalled outdoor wedding experience.
The theme was summer in Wales – I wanted to combine some traditional and modern elements in an unconventional setting. As this shoot was outdoors, I wanted lots of natural light and to capture the mesmerising beauty of North Wales during this time of year.
This location is special and unique in several ways. As well as the awe-inspiring views, Blue Acre fits perfectly with the theme as it is the only licensed shepherd’s hut wedding venue in North Wales. I love the fact that the venue can feel so intimate yet really capture the sense of the great Welsh outdoors. Summer in Wales is about being in the open air and enjoying the natural beauty that is all around us.
The flowers from The Very Nice Flower Company were classy and chic, with beautiful mauve and greenery blooms to compliment the mauve ribbon of the dress. Flowers placed in wooden crates outside the stairs of the hut really helped highlight the romance of the venue.
We used a modern contemporary balloon arch on the door to the tipi (supplied by Event in a Tent) to enhance the entrance, created by Entertainment 12. The stationery from Emberwood Creative had brush and mauve tones, and was simple, stylish and in keeping with my theme. The cakes were a combination of a classic two-tier wedding cake alongside a dessert grazing table, showing off the versatility of our baker at The Microcakery. We also had a classic VW campervan from Split The Difference.
The dress was a classic cut dress from The Silk Loft bridal shop and had a mauve ribbon running across the middle. It was so elegant and had stunning lace detailing.
The suit supplied by Trefor Jones Ltd was chosen to compliment the modern tipi vibe – a classic grey three-piece with a crisp clean white shirt and mauve tie.
The hair and makeup styles created by Cassie M Bridal were soft and classic. A low updo for the hair with soft curls around the model’s face with light and flawless makeup. The bride looked effortlessly beautiful.
As the theme was summer in Wales, we were hoping for good weather. Luckily for us the sun was out however it would not have been a Welsh summer’s day without a small shower just after lunch! We utilised some of the onsite shepherds huts as locations for our suppliers to work from for hair and makeup, dressing rooms and refreshments. This added to the unconventional feel that I was aiming for and provided a different location for our suppliers to work from than they might not be accustomed to.
My aim was to bring together local suppliers in this fantastic location, and to demonstrate the possibilities for an unforgettable outdoor wedding in Wales. I think I captured the essence of what makes this location so unique as a wedding venue.
This venue is comparatively new, and as a result, they do still have availability for weddings throughout 2021 and 2022. They offer a great amount of flexibility for couples depending on what style they may wish to choose for their wedding day. This venue is suitable for tipis, tents, marquees or outdoor weddings with the bonus of it being officially licensed to conduct marriages on site. There is guest accommodation in the form of shepherds huts with hot tubs also available. An ideal place for guests to relax and enjoy the Welsh scenery!
I’m currently working with numerous venues across North Wales, The Wirral and Cheshire to help with the coordination of weddings. I provide coordination packages and am offering a free consultation to couples. Drop me an email at [email protected] to arrange a coffee and a chat.
