Country garden chic takes centre stage in today’s glorious styled shoot, conceptualised by fabulous florist, Kellie, from Kellie’s Flowers. Set at the spectacular Hazlewood Castle in Yorkshire, this shoot is all kinds of pretty – think classic neutral tones, exquisite blooms, and dreamy styling touches galore. The naked cake and smattering of sweet treats will make your mouth water, we guarantee!
What we especially love is the vintage and uber romantic Morris Minor, and as Kellie quite rightly points out – a wedding car is so much more than just a mode of transport – it can be an eye-catching feature on your big day too, so be sure to make it something memorable!
We think you’ll adore this shoot and find heaps of inspo from the team’s beautifully-crafted setups, but more heartwarmingly fuzzy than that – this shoot inspired the models, aka real-life couple Gemma and Neil, to start planning their big day again, after their original wedding date was thrown into disarray because of the pandemic. Smiles all round, we think! Here’s Kellie to tell us more.

Kellie says: There’s something quite magical about an English country garden. Something that’s always drawn me to its vast array of seasonal blooms and enticing qualities. I don’t know whether it’s the romantic in me or the florist, but the need to nurture and celebrate this style with florals was truly at the heart of this styled shoot.
I wanted to create a series of wedding elements that could help lead viewers right into the heart of my passion, to fall in love with the romance of the pretty setups and behold the beauty of English outdoor spaces.
Hazlewood Castle is nestled in several acres of stunning woodlands in the heart of the Yorkshire countryside. Boasting an elegantly restored castle and spa, it has several outdoor spaces which were just perfect for styling a cottage garden cake display, plus a romantic quintessential sweetheart table celebrating alfresco dining.
Captured on a springtime evening with the last few rays of golden sun bursting through the blossom trees – the results from this shoot are truly mesmerising. Natalie’s direction, imagination and talent delivered everything I had imagined and more.
The florals needed to be inviting. They needed to be familiar yet exciting and they needed to entice the viewer to engage in the beauty of the day and the natural elements of the designs.
With sumptuous layers of textured ranunculus and roses, the bountiful tall stems of the delphinium and hints of wine and gold amongst the bridal bouquet and floral creations, the soft elegant feel to the shoot was mirrored throughout and captured perfectly in a series of shots oozing sophisticated beauty.
A collection of the finest tantalizing sweet treats surrounded by a three-tiered nude Victoria sponge, created by Cakes by Leisa, and set amongst a super pretty floral display with romantic banner and foliage. From donuts to biscuits, and all types of goodies, including gluten-free options – we had the perfect accompaniment to this bespoke wedding cake. With couples now choosing versatility in their dessert options, this delightful selection provided just that.
One of my aims for this shoot was to reflect a natural, simplistic beauty for the modern couple. While remaining unique and personal to them, stationery is such a fantastic and quirky way of displaying messages or song lyrics and bringing that special touch to your day. The finished designs by UNVEILED Network Member Gray Starling Designs were amazing and a perfect complement to the shoot.
A pair of high-quality banners adorned both the cake display and sweetheart table with romantic poems, and delicate blush florals and eucalyptus designs flourished across a suite of invitations and menus alongside bespoke engraved wooden name plates. We also had beautiful silk ribbons from CFleurs Designs.
There seems to be a misconception surrounding wedding cars and the belief that they are simply to deliver the bridal party to the desired destination. I wanted to overcome this and show just how wonderful it could be to use the vehicle as a feature, rather than simply transport. The cutest little Morris Minor from UNVEILED Network Member Limelight Wedding Emporium provided our couple with superb photograph opportunities and a chance to have some fun. It was heaped in style and provided a classical edge amongst the stately backdrops and woodland drive.
The prettiest textured, bespoke gown with hand-embroidered embellishments and delicate petals by Stephanie Moran Couture was so beautiful, mirroring a bountiful and luscious wedding, filled with splendour.
Our groom wore his own wedding outfit, selected with his own wedding day in mind, pre-pandemic. Neil rocked this three-piece, oozing style and sophistication.
Blessed with rich, long locks, I envisaged natural, tousled curls for our bride, created by UNVEILED Network Member Kate Howard Hair & Makeup Artistry. Increasing in popularity, the side pleat adds a touch of the contemporary with a captivating edge.
Delicate, stylish and luxurious pieces compliment the gold and pearl hair accessories and jewellery from UNVEILED Network Member Sarah Vuong Bridal Jewellery. Handcrafted with the finest materials, they were the perfect finish for Kate’s styling and accompanied the finest principles of the shoot.
Real-life couple, Gemma and Neil, were due to be married this spring, but with rescheduling and reduced numbers, their get up and go around wedding planning simply got up and left. They felt disengaged and lost, overwhelmed by the ever-changing restrictions and made the very difficult decision to simply cancel their big day. As their florist and friend, I invited them to take part in this shoot to try to reignite their desire to be wed and regain faith in the planning process. I’m pleased to say that they thoroughly enjoyed the shoot and have begun to look forward to planning their own celebrations once again. Like for many couples, inspiration was key!
