Welcome to the day that the beautiful Laura and her dashing groom Shaz tied the knot at the stunningly elegant and timeless Grantley Hall. It’s the classically romantic stuff your actual wedding dreams are made of.
From the warmth of the vintage champagne colour palette and utterly dreamy blooms in the bouquet, to the prestige of the luxury venue nestled in the picturesque Yorkshire Dales, this wedding is perennial perfection.
Whether you’re planning a traditional affair or a more luxurious celebration, we reckon there’s something here for everyone. Not to mention the total bridal inspo GOALS that are those snaps of Laura in her gorgeous Enzoani gown – an absolute lesson in simple and graceful style.
Let’s speak to the bride herself…

Proposal
We got engaged around four years ago. I would love to have a really romantic story to tell but it didn’t quite happen like that for us; we just had a conversation and decided to make it official and get married!
Setting
We tied the knot on the 9th of August 2021. It was the day before my birthday and it was so nice to wake up a married woman the next day!
Both the ceremony and the reception took place at Grantley Hall, Ripon. The venue was close enough for our family to travel, and we had previously stayed at Grantley Hall for a mini break and loved the place and the level of service they provide.
Theme
In terms of the flowers, we requested an ‘antique’ colour palette. The back of my dress had a champagne underskirt beneath the lace and we wanted to capture and enhance that vintage feel.
Dress
I purchased my dress from Scarlet Poppy in Pudsey, Leeds. The designer was Enzoani. I loved the train on my dress and the fact that it was fairly simple at the front.
Groomsmen
The groom and his men all wore Marc Darcy from Jenson Samuel in Skipton.
Bridesmaids
The bridesmaids’ dresses were from Karen Millen.
Beauty
Our hair on the day was done by UNVEILED Network Member Lottie Haigh Hair and makeup by Megan Bulmer from Bulmer Beauty.
Transport
We travelled in a Bentley Arnage hired from Dan Waller Cars. Our chauffeur Duncan was brilliant and made me feel so calm on the way to the church.
Photographer
Bethany Clarke was amazing! She was extremely efficient and professional in all correspondence prior to the wedding, then she was fantastic on the day and we absolutely love our pictures!
Videographer
Charlotte White was another amazing lady! She worked seamlessly with our photographer, Bethany. She captured some amazing memories for us and our wedding video made my husband cry three times just watching it!
Styling
Styling was done by Jo Cairns at The Rarified in Ripon. She is extremely talented, creating us truly elegant wedding florals. She provided all the flowers and decorations.
Favours
We gave guests Harvey Nichols pre-mixed cocktails as favours, or Hotel Chocolat chocolates for the non-drinkers.
Cake
A kind family friend made our cake as a wedding gift to us!
Entertainment
We chose a live duo and DJ provided from Jonny Ross Music in Harrogate. We also had Nadia, a violinist from Ripon, and an amazing magician Luke Howells.
Thanks to
Grantley Hall is a beautiful rural setting and I would highly recommend it to any couple looking for that touch of luxury. We were incredibly lucky that we would highly recommend each and every one of our suppliers. We did a lot of research before booking and it paid off. We would book them all again if we could!
Best bit
The speeches we will treasure forever and were a highlight of the day for us.
It was also amazing to dance with my partner, family and friends at the end of the night after what has been a very restrictive year or so.
Honeymoon
We had a little familymoon this year but are still hoping to plan a honeymoon for just the two of us in 2023.
Advice
Our top tip for other brides and grooms to be is to try to enjoy every minute, as the day goes by so quickly!
